PSL 2020 Local Player Category List – PSL 5

PSL 2020 local player category list is filled with young talent and each team has special spots for them. As PSL 2020 seeks to promote Cricket in Pakistan it also seeks to encourage the sport among youngsters. Musa Khan, Ali Imran, Nabi Gul, and Ahsan Ali are some of the emerging stars in PSL. The league dedicated an entire category for young cricketers to ensure each team picks them. An average emerging category player receives $10,000-$12,000 as fee for their services.

This was easy for millennials who did not see the glory days of cricket. But the ’80s and 90’s kids cannot keep the glimmering days of cricket behind them. Every child that was born in the 80’ and ’90s wanted to be like Imran, Miandad, and Wasim. To them Cricket was more than just a game, it was a chance to become something big. PSL 2020 local player category list brings back that nostalgia but a decade too late.

Domestic Cricket on the Rise Again

In the past decade as international cricket took an exit, the domestic events took a beating as well. Domestic events serve as the foundation of National Cricket and with its downfall things became difficult. For the past decade, Pakistan is not giving out any legend Cricketers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Shahid Afridi.

Consequently, due to this outperformance in the 2019 World Cup was questionable. As the National team came under fire for their poor performance the entire graph for Pakistan is going down. Pakistan recently lost a T20 series to Siri Lanka in their own home ground. Whereas, just a few years ago we dominated the T20 format
